We want to help

Here at Christ in the Community, we are passionate about spreading the love of God and helping others. Our name encapsulates our mission. It means we collectively represent Christ within our community. We are the hands and feet of Christ in our community. As an unifying force, we stand as the embodiment of Jesus’ love and compassion in action.

Our aim

We aim to work in partnership with churches to foster empowerment and growth within their communities, whilst spreading the gospel. We are especially interested in supporting those who are disadvantaged, helping them to find practical ways to overcome any social barriers they may face, giving them the opportunity to thrive.

"We are driven by our belief that fortified individuals and
families lay the cornerstone for resilient communities"

Jesus’ mission on this earth was about reaching those who were sick, poor and needy. As followers of Christ our purpose is to love those around us, just as we love ourselves and in order to do this, we have to go out and find people who are in need and show them that we care. If people know that we care about their physical needs then it's much easier to reach them spiritually. Jesus demonstrated this in how He lived.

Matthew 9:35-38

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Our purpose as followers of Christ is to follow in His footsteps.

Matthew 28:18-20

â€śAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

We work in 3 ways

1. We help churches in the UK to make their presence known in and around their community by offering practical and strategic support through a range of services.

2. We help communities in Jamaica facing indigence, helping children to attend school by providing school supplies and the fuel they need to attend school and achieve their full potential.

3. We support local people by offering resources and programs to help those facing financial constrainst, isolation, loneliness and mental difficulties, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting integration and connection within the community.

The foundation of our organisation is rooted in the love and compassion of Jesus. We help churches to share this love and compassion by offering the following services:
